The Cryptology and Network Security Lab (密碼與網路安全實驗室) at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), also known as CANSEC-Lab@NSYSU, was established in 2020 under the direction of Dr. Arijit Karati.
Dr. Karati is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. from the Dept. of Comp. Sci. & Engg., Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Dhanbad, India, in 2018. Dr. Karati was awarded the 108th Postdoctoral Researcher Academic Research Award from the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC, former MOST) Taiwan in 2020. Dr. Karati is a senior member of IEEE and a Professional Member of ACM.
The CANSEC-Lab@NSYSU promotes cutting-edge technology and has a wide range of equipment to support research.
Our research focuses on theoretical and applied cybersecurity, including identity-based and certificateless cryptography, digital signatures, signcryption, and post-quantum security. We also develop secure solutions for vehicular networks, IoT systems, and edge/cloud environments, with emphasis on lightweight authentication and intrusion detection.
By combining strong security foundations with practical implementation, the lab aims to deliver efficient and deployable cybersecurity solutions for real-world applications.
Classical: Usage of Data Encryption, Digital Signature, Signcryption, Searchable Encryption through Identity-Based Cryptography, Certificateless Cryptography (Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4, Y5)
Post-quantum Cryptography: Signcryption, Homomorphic Encryption (P1)
Applied cryptography (應用密碼學)
Network/Communication Protection (網路與通訊保護)
Automotive Security (汽車安全)
Decentralized Data Privacy (去中心化數據隱私)
