Lab Director

The Cryptology and Network Security Lab (密碼與網路安全實驗室) at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), also known as CANSEC-Lab@NSYSU, was established in 2020 under the direction of Dr. Arijit Karati. 

Dr. Karati is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NSYSU, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.  Prior to that, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at NSYSU. He received his Ph.D. from the Dept. of Comp. Sci. & Engg., Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, India, in 2018.  Dr. Karati was awarded the Postdoctoral Fellowship and the 108th Postdoctoral Researcher Academic Research Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Taiwan in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Besides, he received the Outstanding Paper Award at the 2018 International Computer Symposium conference in Taiwan.  He is a senior member of IEEE and a Professional Member of ACM.

His research focuses on applied cryptology, cybersecurity, network/communication protection, automotive security, and decentralized data privacy.
